Mounting a Scope with a C-Mount

RWS Combo Air Rifles are packed with an RWS Scope & RWS C-Mount. The C-Mount is an adjustable type mount that allows you to elevate the lower half of the scope rings - independently of each other. If you purchased your RWS Air Rifle alone (not as a combo package) and want to mount a scope, we recommend the purchase of an RWS C-Mount or a similar type adjustable mount. RWS guns are designed and built in such a way that the barrel is at a slight downward angle in relationship to the receiver tube of the gun. The guns lock up very rigid and are incredibly accurate in this design. To properly setup the scope with an RWS C-Mount proceed as follows:

1) Back out the lug screws that clamp the C-Mount base onto the scope rail.
2) Position the mount base on the rail so that the recoil pin drops off into the rearward round depression of the scope rail.
3) Tighten lug screws securing C-Mount base onto rail.
4) Spin the bottom halves of scope rings onto the threaded studs so that they become slightly snug.
5) Then, elevate the forward scope ring 1/2 turn from snug & elevate the rearward scope ring 1 1/2 turns from snug.
6) Position scope in rings with minimum of 3" eye relief and apply top halves of rings.
7) Alternately tighten the scope ring screws.
8) Proceed to sight in rifle.

With the scope mounting system set up in this manner you are slightly elevating the rear of the scope and therefore positioning it in a parallel line with the rifle barrel. This allows adequate adjustment in the scope elevation "clicks" to zero in the rifle.
