| RWS LP8 Pistol Review: Pistol Built on a Long Tradition |
I was as thrilled as many other owners of the Walther LP53 air pistol (“LP” is German for Luft Pistole) when James Bond appeared on movie posters for four of his films holding this svelte pistol. And it was a decent target pistol as well, producing 1/2-inch groups at 10 meters by a skilled shooter. What the gun lacked was horse-power and range. Trying to shoot pigeons annoyed them more than anything else.
Now along comes RWS with a real powerhouse of a pistol, the Walther spring-piston Model LP8. With five lbs-ft of muzzle energy, this hunter’s pistol carries four lbs-ft out to 20 yards and three lbs-ft (enough for the smaller pest birds) to 45 yards. Using light weight pellets such as the RWS Hyper MAX results in a relatively flat trajectory when sighted in at this reasonable distance. In fact the working range of this gun can be varied greatly all depending on just how flat you want it to shoot.

| From the Bench: Bent Barrel Prevention |
"From the Bench" is a monthly column that comes directly from the gun techs that work at Umarex USA. This second column is a brief exploration of how the bending of break barrel rifle barrels commonly occurs, how we straighten the barrel back out, and ways to prevent this type of bending from occurring.
The Umarex USA Service Department typically receives one or two break barrel rifles per week that have upward bent barrels. At first, this might seem like a strange phenomenon. After all, to cock a break barrel rifle, one typically has to pull down on the barrel of the gun, not up. Why, then, would we see so many upward bent barrels?

 I recently had the pleasure of shooting the Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle BB pistol. Having recently seen it profiled as one of several affordable, high quality air pistols, and also on several message boards and blogs discussing the gun’s characteristics, I wanted to give the pistol a try for myself to see how much truth there was to the hype behind the pistol.
In this brief "test fire" overview article, I take a look at the important characteristics of the Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle BB Pistol and what it feels like to shoot the pistol.

Primary Safety Rules.
There are five primary rules of gun safety taught by most instructors:
1. All guns are always loaded.
2. Don't let the muzzle of the gun cross anything you're not prepared to shoot.
3. Keep your finger out of the trigger guard, up on the frame of the gun, until the sights are on target and you're prepared to shoot.
4. Always be sure of your target and what's beyond it.
5. Maintain control of your gun.
