| Walther Talon Magnum Field Test |
There is some debate on the forums and in the industry as to whether or not there is a viable, true 1000 fps spring-piston rifle in .22 caliber. In .177, 1000+ fps is quite achievable, but there are some ….um….robust discussions about the .22 caliber and whether or not it reaches such velocities. Well, I’ve found a 1000+ fps springer, and the nice thing is it also qualifies as an economical choice for the average shooter who wants a truly powerful .22 caliber spring-piston rifle. Since hunting season is just around the corner, I thought I would start testing some of the new guns that I've received in the last month or two to evaluate their suitability for one of my favorite pastimes....squirrel hunting! Read the rest of the article, where I discuss the aspects of the gun I find most interesting. I also do some testing with two different pellets and show the results of the tests.

Test-Fire: The High Power Pistol (HPP) If you look at the Umarex line of BB pistols, you’ll see several, like the HK USP, that reach or top 400 feet per second. And of these, only one has blowback (recoil) action—the HPP (“High Power Pistol”). BB pistols powered by CO2 require a lot of gas to kick their slides back when they fire a projectile, so until the HPP, it’s been hard to find a BB gun with blowback that legitimately shot at 400 feet per second. In this brief "test fire" overview article, we take a look at what it feels like to shoot a High Power Pistol. Read the rest of the article here >> |

Product Spotlight |
"Engage your brain before touching any type of gun." Airgun Safety Video. For those that have not had a chance yet, take a look at our short Airgun Safety video. It covers some of the important things to remember when handling an airgun. A few (of the many) points covered in the video include the following: • Minors must always be supervised by an adult. • Get to know your equipment. (Don't assume it operates like other guns you have used.) • Always use the safety on the gun. • Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, even when the safety is on. • Be sure to keep your finger away from the trigger at all times until you are ready to shoot. • Always assume an air gun is loaded. • Wearing eye and ear protection is very important. • New shooters should take a beginning shooters class in addition to studying the owner's manual.
