Airguns come in all different configurations. Most of the time when you see the words “full auto” and “CO2 powered” you can safely assume that the airgun in question is going to be some iteration of a “black” gun. Well, not every gun out there is some form of AR or AK variant and that is ok. We love all airguns and we like to have as many different kinds of airguns in our catalog as we can because you guys love them just as much as we do.
And considering how everything is getting more and more expensive, making yet another airgun that costs more than some firearms did not make any sense to us. Why can’t we build something that has broad appeal, is easy to use, and doesn’t require a loan to buy?
We can do that!
Umarex is the pros at building airguns that the whole family can enjoy and with that, we would like to introduce you to the newest member of our CO2 carbine family, the Stormfire. The Stormfire is reminiscent of historic guns, but not 100% married to being a replica. Like many of our CO2 carbines, the Stormfire has a three position safety meaning you can make the rifle safe, operate in semi-auto, or full-auto modes. With two 12 gram CO2 cartridges housed in the stock, you’ve got lots of shooting on tap. Lots of CO2 on tap pairs well with the huge main BB reservoir that holds 400 BBs. The internal shooting magazine holds 25 BBs and is a cinch to reload. Just pull out the tab at the end of the hand guard and give the gun a little shake. It’s fun, it’s easy, it’s a solid bet for family fun in the backyard or back 40.
We took the Stormfire with us to the Pyramyd Air Cup to demonstrate at our vendor bay. Most of the people there are competing in either benchrest or field target– two very precision oriented events. Initially, many of these shooters weren’t all that interested in this full-auto, minute-of-soda-can style BB gun. That is right up until the moment they shot it. You see, precision airguns, as fun as they are, are a lot of work. They are finicky and they are not something you want the whole family to touch as the slightest mishandling can cause some very expensive damage. The Stormfire is built for fun. It is built for mag-dumping BBs into rotten fruit or vegetables. It is built for putting smiles on people’s faces.
The Stormfire is built to get the family out of the house and unplug from social media as a family. The Stormfire is built for fun. And every person who stepped up to shoot it saw this immediately. Field target shooters with $8,000 rifle and optic set-ups were itching to take their grand kids out with the Stormfire for an afternoon of summer treats and summer trigger time.
We know the airgun world is very diverse. Even though we love going to competitions and shooting with the best of the best, we know that there’s more to airguns than precision. There’s the fun factor. Umarex certainly values the fun factor and we have for a long, long time. The Stormfire is just the latest example of ultra-fun airguns that come from the folks at Umarex.
