Did You Know Some Umarex Licensed Replicas Fit in Firearm Holsters?

Smith & Wesson M&P9 M2.0 held at low ready

Tom Petty sang, “It’s good to be king, whatever it pays.” For nearly two decades Umarex has been known as the “King of replicas”. In my humble opinion, that is an accurate statement. We make officially licensed replica airguns from worldwide brands like Beretta, GLOCK, HK, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, and Walther.  People who are fans of one or more of these brands can find their flagship models represented in airgun form.  That’s good for everyone.

In making officially licensed products, we try, as hard as we can, to be one-to-one accurate as possible. In some cases, especially with smaller air pistols, this is simply not possible since the CO2 cartridge’s length makes this impossible. But for many of our replicas that have a larger frame, therefore we can hit the magical one-to-one ratio that will allow the airgun to fit properly into holsters made for its parent firearm.

Beretta M92A1 air pistol

A good example of this would be the Beretta M92A1 .177 caliber BB pistol. This is a full size replica that features full blowback operation as well as a fully automatic shooting mode. This air pistol has an under-barrel picatinny rail that will accommodate a laser or light accessory. You might have trouble finding a holster that will fit the M92A1 with an accessory light, but you won’t have any trouble finding one that will fit this airgun.  Search for holsters for the Beretta M92A1.

GLOCK 17 Gen 4 .177 caliber BB pistol

The most popular handgun in the United States for the last couple decades has been made by the GLOCK brand. Particularly the compact size models. Due to the compact size of the grip on GLOCK compact frames, 12 gram CO2 doesn’t play well with blowback action airguns. This can be accounted for with a longer magazine or a switch to a 19X style frame that utilizes a compact sized barrel and slide in a full size style grip frame. This said, full blowback action GLOCK 17 and 19X air pistols will fit in holsters made for the corresponding GLOCK firearm.

Colt Commander .177 BB pistol

In the 1911 category, you will find the more traditional design in our Colt Commander. In spite of the name, the Commander is a full-size  style 1911.  New for 2026 is the Ruger SR1911. This air pistol has more of a “race” gun aesthetic with a flared magazine well. That being said, either model will fill up a standard full size 1911 holster very well.

HK VP9 .177 Caliber BB pistol

You will find this to be the case with Heckler & Koch’s VP9 blowback action air pistol and Smith & Wesson’s M&P9 M2.0.  Airguns have been making more inroads into popular culture for years and holster fit is just one more way airgunning is becoming mainstream.
