The Umarex USA and Umarex DE crew at the 2024 SHOT Show.
It’s that time of the year again! Every industry has its show season, and the outdoors space is no exception. We and everyone else in the Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoors Trade are set to gather in Las Vegas January 19th through the 23rd.
SHOT Show, of course, is typically a really good time of the year to introduce new and exciting products so we and everyone else tends to have some new gear for the media folks to oogle over. As such, if anything is going to be announced at the show, you guys will have to wait a few days until the show starts. I am sorry. No sneak previews here.
What to Expect From Us
"Pigman" Brian Quaca at the Umarex Industry Day at the Range with the FISHR air bowfishing device.
Typically, we attend Industry Day at the Range on Monday. This year we decided that the best approach to demonstrate our new guns would be to use some of our favorite media personalities outside of the pressure and inconveniences of the desert range.
This really makes a lot of sense as we, an airgun company, are competing with the noise of all the firearms present at the range. Also, if we have a CO2 product to introduce, thirty-five degree weather is suboptimal for BB shooting. By getting our new guns directly to a content creator, they can produce quality, in-depth content at their leisure instead of standing in line in the cold for a few minutes of “Hey, look at this!” shouted over the reports of pistol barreled AR15’s with muzzle brakes.
All the usual suspects will come by our booth during the show. We will visit with them and go over all the new gear under the lights. The only thing missing will be the B-Roll shooting clips.
We always run into old friends. Here, the author is taking the obligatory selfie with industry favorite and fellow Arkansan Roy Hill.
Hill has recently taken a position with Magpull Industries.
No one around here is crying over not standing in the cold, windy, rainy, miserable desert.
OK. I’ll miss the drive out to Boulder City and our crack-of-dawn pilgrimage to the McDonalds on Hwy 93.
