You blink and it’s gone. This year has been absolutely flying by, at least from where I sit. Last year at this time I was preparing to go to Japan to visit my son and now I am on the cusp of that event’s one year anniversary. Since that time, we have had one full year with the Zelos PCP rifle platform and I must say we’ve heard plenty of positive feedback on it. I have picked up two for my own use in competitions and have had a considerable amount of fun with them both. As I write this, Team Umarex is preparing to head to Marengo, Ohio for the 2025 Pyramyd Air Cup.
We love going to Ohio for this competition. For us southerners, the climate is much more like “back home”. Also, there’s a modest bit of humidity in the air– a blessing or a curse, for some, but at least you don’t really have to worry about dying of thirst. Now, sweating through your clothes is another issue altogether. For our team members based in the West, I suspect they secretly envy the green, the trees, and rolling geography found in the eastern half of the country.

This year an unstable polar cap has brought early fall temperatures to the Eastern half of the country. For that, I, a fat man, am thankful. It is looking like we should have a wonderful trip to Ohio for the Cup.
